I have been in India for an entire week now, and I am loving every bit of it.  Okay…almost every bit of it.

Although I have encountered various countries, cultures and time zones throughout the past few years of life, my experience with jet lag has been seemingly nonexistent.  That is, until this past week happened.  After several days of waking up in the dark of night with the energy of two to three cups of coffee and my body wondering why the sun is shining past two in the afternoon, I can confidently declare that jet lag is a very real thing to be experienced.

At this point I feel as though my issue with the nine and a half hour time change has been overcome.  And although I consider jet lag to be my most difficult labour yet, another battle has reared its frightful head.

Food that is full of spice and flavor is one of my favorite things when it comes to being in India. But when your roommates feed you meals (as you willingly accept and invite them to) with all things consistent to that of the culture of spice and chili peppers, the consequences can be a little less than pleasant.  Symptoms include, but are not limited to, the unrelenting feeling of your mouth feeling like it’s on fire, sweating of the brow and diarrhea.

All things considered, I feel as though I have thrived through my first week of being back in India.

And I’m not the only one thriving!  The cows are doing pretty well here too.

Thank you for all of your prayers and financial support!  I am so close to being fully funded for my 2 year commitment in India.  To reach 100% of my goal, I am needing to raise $180 more in monthly committed support. Would you consider joining me on this journey as a financial supporter?
